Chapter 5 · Daily Operations

Time Management and Process Efficiency

Most restaurant problems are process problems. If daily work depends on memory and improvisation, the business becomes stressful and inconsistent. Efficient processes create calmer shifts and better results.

Efficiency is not about moving faster—it’s about wasting less time. The best operations reduce repeated mistakes, avoid last-minute emergencies, and create predictable routines for prep, service, cleaning, ordering, and communication.
