Shift Scheduling and Payroll

Scheduling is one of the most powerful levers in restaurant profitability—and one of the biggest drivers of team satisfaction. Good schedules match demand; bad schedules create chaos, overtime, and burnout.

    A Simple Scheduling Routine

    Build schedules 1–2 weeks in advance using sales forecasts. Review daily labor performance (sales per labor hour or labor %). Then adjust quickly: add coverage to peaks, reduce unnecessary overlap, and cross-train to improve flexibility.
